Far-right congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, of Georgia, is being lampooned on social media over her response to Dominion Voting Systems’ $787 million settlement with Fox News in its defamation suit against the conservative network.
Fox avoided a devastating trial by admitting to broadcasting falsehoods and settling the case ahead of opening statements and minutes before the jury was called in for the trial.
The trial centered on false claims made on air by some Fox personalities that Dominion’s voting machines somehow flipped the 2020 election against former President Donald Trump.
Greene, a raucous Trump supporter and QAnon conspiracy theorist, complained on Twitter that people are not able to criticize Dominion without being sued.
“We have food critics that criticize restaurants, consumer reports that criticizes products, auto critics that criticize automobiles, and conservative Americans have just wrapped up a week of nuking a beer company, but you can’t criticize a voting machine company or you’ll get sued for millions and millions of dollars.”
Twitter users were quick to respond with some accusing the extremist lawmaker of gaslighting, and pointing out the difference between criticism and lies.
“Criticism and fabrication of lies are not the same. Criticism costs nothing. Lies cost $787,500,000,” one user wrote. “If you don’t know the difference, keep lying, and you will find out.”

CRITICISM: Marjorie Taylor Greene is a bad member of Congress because she isn't focused on solutions for constituents, just performative outrage.
LIE: Marjorie Taylor Greene is very intelligent.
See? There's a difference.

There is nothing you can say or do to confront MAGA gaslighting that won’t be met with more MAGA gaslighting
Nothing. That’s the loop we’re in.
They will do and say anything. And there is nothing you can do or say to do anything about it.
That is the MAGA gaslighting paradox

This analogy only makes sense if you consider someone accusing a pizza parlor of running a child-trafficking network out of its basement to be a “food critic”.

They didn't criticize. They LIED.
If those food critics LIED and said the food was poisonous when it wasn't, those food critics should get sued.
This isn't about criticizing. This was about LYING.

They lied, just like you. I’m surprised you haven’t been sued yet.

You should sit down and figure how how much your lies are going to cost you based on what Fox has to pay. Lies have consequences. Ask Fox.

You really are pathetic. Protecting your Russia partner Tucker, no doubt.
You are always on the wrong side of truth, decency and democracy.
