Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s husband Perry Greene filed for divorce on Wednesday, according to court documents cited by Business Insider.
In his petition, Perry Greene wrote that he and the congresswoman had been in a “bona-fide state of separation” before he filed the papers in Floyd County, Georgia. Court documents show that Perry Greene and the controversial congresswoman have been married for over 27 years. He also added that their marriage is now “irretrievably broken.”
The Republican congresswoman acknowledged receipt of the divorce petition on Wednesday, according to the Insider.
However, Perry Greene asked that the divorce be filed under seal, saying that “the record will contain sensitive personal and financial information, the public disclosure of which would negatively impact the parties’ privacy interests.”
