A major Danish construction company just sent a loud message to Elon Musk—and it came with car keys.

Tscherning, a well-known firm in Denmark, announced that it’s getting rid of every single Tesla in its company fleet. The reason? Elon Musk.

“At Tscherning, we not only decide how we drive – but also who we drive with,” the company said. “That’s why we’ve chosen to hand over the keys to our Tesla company cars – not because Tesla has become a bad car, but in light of Elon Musk’s political commitment and the opinions he has publicly expressed (and which are increasingly hard to overlook), we as a company have chosen to say ‘thank you for the ride.’”

They’re not the only ones walking away. Across Europe, Tesla is losing ground—and fast. Sales had already started dropping in 2024, but things got worse in 2025 as more people reacted to Musk’s open support for Donald Trump and far-right political parties in Europe.

It’s not just about buying fewer cars. Many Tesla owners are actively trying to get rid of their vehicles because they don’t want to be tied to the brand anymore.

For companies like Tscherning, image matters. They made it clear that this isn’t just about cars—it’s about values.

“We don’t want to be associated with the values and political direction that currently accompany the Tesla brand,” the company said.

Tscherning plans to replace the Teslas with European-made electric cars.

They even posted a video of their Teslas being returned (see it below).

They’re following the path of Rossmann, one of Europe’s largest pharmacy chains, which also dumped its Tesla fleet over Musk’s political behavior.

Meanwhile, companies like Hertz are probably feeling pretty lucky. They ditched their Teslas before all this blew up—and avoided the collapse in resale value that followed.

The writing is on the wall: Tesla’s image in Europe is in freefall. Corporate clients are walking away. Regular drivers are selling. Prices are tanking.

Tesla’s Model Y might be available, but it’s not helping much. Sales in Q2 are looking just as bad as Q1, which was already down 40% compared to last year.

At this rate, the company could face serious consequences in Europe—layoffs, store closures, and more.

If you still want a Tesla, you’re probably better off buying one second-hand. The prices keep dropping.
