The MAGA base is furious. On Saturday, the Supreme Court shocked Trump supporters by halting a key deportation effort pushed by the Trump administration—one that targeted a group of Venezuelan men in Texas. In a 7-2 ruling, the Court said deportations must be paused while a lawsuit from the ACLU plays out.
The decision hit hard, especially since three of the justices who sided against Trump—Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett—were appointed by Trump himself. Many on the right now see the Supreme Court not as an ally, but as part of the problem.
Paul Ingrassia, a Trump-appointed DHS liaison, slammed the decision. “Generations of lawyers and judges, on both sides of the aisle, have been infected with a parasitical ideology that denies reason and common sense,” he posted on X.
The case hinges on the use of the Alien Enemies Act—an old law from the 1700s that allows deportation of people from enemy nations without full due process. The ACLU argues that migrants were rounded up without proper notice, and that many only received warnings in English. The Supreme Court agreed to pause the removals while the lawsuit moves forward.
Ingrassia didn’t hold back: “The Supreme Court would rather actively participate in America’s ruination, rather than work alongside the duly elected president to help reestablish the RULE OF LAW.”
The Trump team is already fighting back. Solicitor General D. John Sauer filed a request with the Court to reverse the order, accusing the ACLU of skipping steps in the legal process—but stopping short of denying the core facts in the case.
Meanwhile, anger is exploding across MAGA circles. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller posted, “We live in a society where foreign alien terrorists have unlimited free legal representation. But Americans whose communities have been stolen from them are left without recourse.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed the outrage: “We are confident we will ultimately prevail against the onslaught of meritless litigation brought by radical activists who care more about the rights of these terrorist aliens than those of the American people.”
Tom Fitton, head of Judicial Watch, went even further—suggesting Trump should suspend habeas corpus to stop what he called the “Biden invasion.”
Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) added fuel to the fire. Sharing a clip on NewsMax, she blamed “open borders” for the collapse of the public school system. “Who will compensate the American people for the lasting damage caused by mass illegal migration?!” she wrote.
The case involves Venezuelan nationals accused of ties to the violent gang Tren de Aragua. For now, the Supreme Court has hit pause. But for Trump allies, the message is clear: The Court has turned, and it’s time to fight back.
“Trump needs to defy,” one supporter posted. And judging by the tone across MAGA World, that’s exactly what they expect him to do.
