GOP Rep. Liz Cheney on Wednesday fired back at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) after he appeared on Fox News and said Cheney “falls into the category of people who Donald Trump just broke” Mentally.
“I look at the situation of Liz Cheney and I just think it’s sad,” Cruz said during on Fox News Tuesday. “I’ve always liked her, I haven’t agreed with her on everything, I think she’s a bit too eager to send in the Marines and to invade countries all over the planet, but I’ve always liked her and I think she falls into the category of people who Donald Trump just broke, just shattered.”
He added: “She hates Donald Trump so much that it just has overridden everything in her system,” he continued. “She’s lashing out at Trump and Republicans and everything, and she’s become a Democrat and it’s sad to watch what has happened. It is Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
In response, Cheney told CNN’s Melanie Zonona that Trump “broke” Cruz, turning him into a coward.
“A real man would be defending his wife, and his father, and the Constitution,” the Wyoming congresswoman said, referring to Trump’s past derogatory comments about Cruz’s wife.
This is the second time this month that Cheney has come out swinging against Cruz. Last week, she accused him of “posturing for the secessionist vote.”
Republicans have targeted Cheney because of her repeated criticisms of former President Donald Trump and his voter fraud conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and for participating in the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots.
