Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), who was one of the few GOP senators that were undecided on whether or not to have additional witnesses at Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, made her decision on Friday and decided to not allow additional witnesses.
Murkowski’s decision came after former national security adviser John Bolton revealed that White House counsel Pat Cipollone — Trump’s lead impeachment defense lawyer — was in the same room when the president asked him to help him in the pressure scheme against Ukraine.
Sens. Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Susan Collins (R-ME) have been the only two senators who have said they wanted to hear new evidence.
Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN), who was also undecided, announced on Thursday night that he believed Trump’s Ukraine actions were wrong but claimed he did not want to listen to additional evidence.
