House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was filmed as he fled from a reporter who attempted to ask him a question about the Republican National Committee’s resolution which declared the actions of the January 6 rioters “legitimate political discourse.”
On Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Senate Republicans rebuked the RNC’s censuring Cheney and Kinzinger. But McCarthy was unwilling to make the same strong denouncement of the RNC’s action as he doesn’t want to upset former President Donald Trump. Watch him walked away from a reporter, urging her instead to make an appointment with his office:
I tried to ask @GOPLeader about the RNC’s resolution describing Jan. 6 as “legitimate political discourse”
He told me to make an appointment with his office… insisting it’s “not good” to answer questions in hallways. pic.twitter.com/yaL8opl6Pf
