Former Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) didn’t hold back, comparing Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) to disgraced ex-congressman George Santos at a local Rotary Club meeting. Buck highlighted Boebert’s controversies and dismissed her response to his retirement as insignificant.
At a local Rotary Club meeting, former Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) delivered a sharp jab at Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) with a pointed comparison, which elicited laughter from attendees.
In the clip, initially disclosed by Politico, Buck remarked, “She makes George Santos look like a saint,” drawing a parallel between Boebert and the disgraced former congressman.
Addressing inquiries about Boebert’s relocation to run in Colorado’s fourth district, Buck emphasized his silence on various controversial aspects, including her husband’s legal issues and her own encounters with the law.
“I have not said a thing about that. I’ve been asked about her son who’s facing 22 criminal charges. I have not said a thing about that. I’ve been asked about her groping a man in a movie theater, and then giving the finger to every single police officer on her way out. I have not said a word about that,” he said.
Despite Buck’s early retirement from Congress, a decision that prompted a special election scheduled for June, Boebert dismissed his departure as insignificant, labeling it “weak sauce” as she vies for the vacant seat.
While opting out of the special election, Boebert affirmed her intention to compete in the GOP primary for a full two-year term in Buck’s former district.
In response to Buck’s criticisms, Boebert characterized him as “irrelevant” and “an embarrassment” to the state, asserting that voters are disenchanted with his tenure.
