Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign has unveiled a new ad attacking Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, and it’s airing exclusively in the Palm Beach area, where Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate is located.
This ad is a key part of the Harris-Walz campaign’s $370 million advertising effort and is designed to highlight Project 2025 as a central piece of Trump’s second term plans. By focusing on Trump’s home district, the campaign aims to make a strategic statement rather than attempting to sway the state of Florida, which remains firmly Republican.
The exact expenditure on this targeted ad is not disclosed, though AdImpact estimates it will cost at least $50,000 just for cable placements. The Harris-Walz campaign is not investing in additional ads elsewhere in Florida, signaling that they do not view the state as a primary battleground.
Sarafina Chitika, a spokesperson for Harris, emphasized the ad’s purpose: “We wanted to ensure that Trump sees how much voters are concerned about his Project 2025 plans, which aim to control their lives and consolidate power. It’s crucial that he understands the consequences of his agenda.”
Project 2025, a comprehensive 900-page document from the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation, outlines a controversial vision for a second Trump term. The ad underscores its proposals, including reforms to the Department of Justice, an expansion of executive power, and significant cuts to reproductive rights and the Department of Education.
Trump has distanced himself from the document amid criticism. “While Trump may try to forget, we are committed to making sure voters remember and hold him accountable in November,” Chitika added.
Earlier reports indicated that the Trump campaign is also investing in ads in Palm Beach to engage his supporters and maintain a strong presence among his donors. A Trump campaign spokesperson responded, “Florida is a stronghold for us, but we are vigilant and continue to invest across the nation.”
Despite Florida’s recent shift to a solid Republican stance, Harris’s campaign is still actively engaging with voters there. On Friday, the campaign announced a Reproductive Rights for All bus tour starting in Palm Beach on Tuesday.
