MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough didn’t hold back as he criticized Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts on Friday for his alarming comments suggesting potential violence if Donald Trump doesn’t win re-election in November.
Roberts, speaking on “Real America’s Voice,” ominously hinted at a violent scenario, saying, “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless ― if the left allows it to be.”
That remark has been regarded as a veiled threat echoing the January 6th insurrection, prompting Scarborough to fiercely denounce it on “Morning Joe.”
He lambasted Roberts for perpetuating a dangerous fantasy of impending civil conflict, accusing him of painting a bleak portrait of the United States.
“Okay, that’s Kevin? Kevin Roberts, is that right? ” Scarborough began. “First of all, Kev, I’m not losing my mind. You know what I talk about, Kevin? I talk about how great America is. I say it all the time — all the time— talked about how great our military is.
“I get sick and tired of people like you trashing our military, talking about how weak our military is. It’s not weak, our military is stronger than it’s ever been. The communist Chinese are scared of us. Russia is scared of us. Our enemies are scared of us. I’m not talking down America, I’m actually very bullish on America.”
With a sharp rebuke, Scarborough reminded Roberts of the electoral realities: “Trump Republicans lost in 2020. Trump Republicans lost in 2021. Trump Republicans lost in 2022. Trump Republicans lost in 2023 and it’s Trump Republicans talking about revolution because you can’t win at the ballot box.”
“Please, who’s freaking out?” he added. “I didn’t see people at MSNBC like, starting riots on January 6th. I didn’t see people at MSNBC bear-spraying cops or crushing cops’ heads inside of doors or defecating in the Capitol. No, that’s your side, Kev, that’s your side — the so-called ‘hostages,’ as Donald Trump calls them. You’re the ones who have been freaking out, so I don’t know why you’re so angry.”
