Ukrainian former professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko has taken aim at podcast host Joe Rogan for comments he made about Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles against Russia. The criticism came shortly after the U.S. presidential election earlier this month, when Rogan called the missile strikes “f‑‑‑ing insane” and questioned the timing of such actions under President Joe Biden’s administration.
During a recent episode of his popular podcast, Rogan expressed concern about Ukraine launching missile attacks deep inside Russia for the first time since Washington lifted a restriction on such strikes. Rogan said, “How are you allowed to do that when you’re on the way out? This should be like some kind of pause on significant actions that could potentially start World War III.”
In response, Klitschko posted a video message on social media, accusing Rogan of repeating Russian propaganda. “Putin’s Russia is in trouble, so they want to scare you and people like you,” Klitschko said. “So you’re using the only weapon that Putin really intends to use: propaganda. And this weapon really weakens our democracy.”
Rogan has grown increasingly influential in political circles this year, having previously endorsed President-elect Donald Trump and hosted him for a widely discussed interview just days before the election. He has also brought on several other controversial figures and right-wing pundits, contributing to his rise as a political influencer.
Klitschko, however, is not backing down from challenging Rogan’s views. In his video message, he extended an invitation to the podcaster, offering to come on The Joe Rogan Experience to discuss their differences face-to-face.
“You see I have quite a few points of difference [with you],” Klitschko said. “If you invite me on your podcast, we can discuss them like free men.”
