In a fiery House Oversight Committee hearing titled “The Biden Administration’s Regulatory and Policymaking Efforts to Undermine U.S. Immigration Law,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) didn’t hold back in accusing MAGA Republicans of obstructing critical measures to address the escalating border crisis. Crockett passionately pointed out President Biden’s attempts to allocate federal resources for essential services, enhance border security with additional personnel and cutting-edge devices, only to be met with relentless opposition from Republicans.
“It’s clear President Biden has tried to give state and local governments, and nonprofits, federal resources to support temporary food, shelter, and other services,” Crockett began.
With a tone of frustration, Crockett questioned the motives of the opposing party, bluntly stating, “Honestly, I can’t tell if y’all are for anything other than obstruction and cruelty.”
Meanwhile, Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Committee Republicans didn’t shy away from laying blame, attributing the worst border crisis in American history to President Biden’s “radical policies” and emphasizing the need to return to deterrent-focused strategies.
As Senate leaders signaled progress in border talks, Crockett’s words echo a pressing concern: Are Republicans hindering solutions for the sake of political opposition? The stakes are high, and the urgency to address the border crisis demands a departure from obstructionist politics.

Crockett: President Biden has tried to give our border agents 100 new cutting edge inspection devices and add 1000 additional law enforcement personnel. Republicans obstructed that request.
