During Wednesday’s edition of MSNBC “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough didn’t pull punches in his scathing critique of Nikki Haley’s flip-flop on Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, exposing her blatant hypocrisy and opportunism.
Opening the segment with footage of Haley receiving mixed reactions from the GOP crowd, co-host Mika Brzezinski wasted no time in playing a clip where Haley criticized Trump’s work ethic with a jab about a “Weekend at Bernie’s presidency,” sardonically questioning, “Wait, didn’t we have that with all of that executive time and golfing?”
Scarborough then unleashed a barrage of Haley’s past condemnations of Trump, quoting her Wall Street Journal statement where she predicted Trump’s election would be “Suicide for our country” and branded him “unhinged.” He reminded viewers how she had publicly questioned Trump’s mental fitness and demanded a cognitive test.
Playing another clip of Haley asserting Trump couldn’t win a general election and that Republicans privately feared him, Scarborough sarcastically remarked, “It’s almost like she is Carnac the Magician, and can predict the future. Because she predicted her own future right there.”
The segment closed with Scarborough lambasting Haley’s blatant opportunism, leaving viewers to confront the stark hypocrisy of her transformation from a fierce critic to a loyal supporter, questioning the authenticity of her political convictions.
“After saying electing Donald Trump would be suicide for America, after saying he was unhinged, after saying he wasn’t all there and he needed to take a cognitive test, that he was too old to be president of the United States. She said, you know, some Republicans will say this that worked for him quietly then they’ll go on to support him,” Scarborough said.
“Nikki Haley meet Nikki Haley,” he concluded.
