Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders released a video message on Monday formally announcing that she will run for governor of Arkansas.
In the video, posted to her campaign website, Sanders invoked threats made against her life during her time in the Trump administration in an appeal to voters in the deeply red state.
“To remain free, we must have law and order and resolve our differences peacefully,” Sanders said. “The radical left’s solution is to impose government control and censorship from the top down.”
“I took on the media, the radical left, and their ‘cancel culture,’ and I won,” Sanders claimed. “As governor, I will be your voice, and never let them silence you.”
Her announcement sparked an avalanche of negative comments, with many people pointing out her infamous propensity to tell obvious, provable lies from the White House briefing podium.
