Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany triggered an avalanche of mockery on social media after she claimed the nation did not see “crisis after crisis” under former President Donald Trump, who was impeached twice and oversaw the disastrous management of a devastating coronavirus pandemic that killed hundreds of thousands of Americans on his watch.
Speaking on Fox News about President Joe Biden’s dip in approval ratings amid the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and a surge in COVID-19 infections driven by the delta variant of the virus, McEnany tried to rewrite history about her former boss.
“We are eight months into a Biden presidency,” she said. “Wrap your head around that. We still have three years and four months left.”
“Look, when President Trump was president, you didn’t see crisis after crisis. You just didn’t see it,” she added.
“I shudder to think about what COVID would have been like under Joe Biden.”
McEnany seems to forget that, under Trump, more than 400,000 people died in the U.S. of COVID-19, a figure that epidemiologists predicted could have been much lower if mitigation measures had been enforced earlier. But in the early stages of the pandemic, when experts were sounding the alarm, Trump was denying the reality of the pandemic and comparing the coronavirus to “the common flu.”
She also forgot that trump was impeached in 2019 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, and again in 2021 for inciting a violent insurrection on the U.S. Capitol that left five people dead.
Her selected memory caused a sever reaction on Twitter:
That's because the crisis was nonstop
There was never NOT a crisis— Dr. Ohm 🇺🇲 (@HereToRebuild) August 24, 2021
Really? Did Kayleigh McEnany forget that a half million people died and millions more were permanently disabled on Trump's watch? That seems like an ongoing crisis. Oh and there was an attempted coup on his watch as well.

Well, to be fair- it really was more of one continuous, rolling, never ending crisis, which just fed into the next one & then the next & the next…
You didn’t see one after the other because they all melded together into one conglomerate ooze of incompetence, evil, awful and sad. pic.twitter.com/qAwBUVgq1s— Jo (@JoJoFromJerz) August 25, 2021
Charlottesville, El Paso shooting, Las Vegas Sniper, having his supporters gather for his rallies in a pandemic, George Floyd, January 6th Insurrection… I can go on and on Kayleigh…

Actually Kayleigh is right. Trump crisis never stopped. His entire presidency was one big crisis. We never had even one single day of peace.

Newspapers don't call for Presidents to resign, Kayleigh. pic.twitter.com/cDoryAsEpw

What’s amazing about Kayleigh McEnany is her constant ability to lie with such ease and conviction, like she believes the bullshit that she’s spewing. Her lies even make the odious Kellyanne Conway blush.
What’s remains a disgrace is that we the taxpayers once paid her salary! pic.twitter.com/BhvTECouxS

Sure, Kayleigh. I guess you believe we all have selective amnesia then.

One reason for the media frenzy over Biden’s Afghan withdrawal is that in his administration, chaos stands out as news.
In Trump’s administration, chaos and crisis were normal.

As Rod Serling famously said:
"Beyond it is another dimension – a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone."

Maybe she’s suffered a head injury and has amnesia. Or maybe she’s a lying clown who’s convinced no one will hold her responsible, because so far no one has.
