Donald Trump has sparked widespread condemnation after a series of comments praising Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But his latest claim about the reason Russia invaded a sovereign nation has angered the internet.
During a phone interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump attacked the Biden administration as “incompetent” and suggested that Putin decided to invade Ukraine because the 2020 election was “rigged.”
“He sees the weakness and the incompetence of the stupidity of this administration,” Trump said of Putin. “And as an American, I’m angry about it, and I’m saddened by it. And it all happened because of a rigged election.”
Trump then suggested that the invasion “would have never happened ” if he was still in office and attacked Biden’s immigration record by claiming that millions of undocumented immigrants are “pouring” into the US every month.
“Far more than 3 million people. And they’re coming from 129 Different countries,” he said.
