A gunman suspected to be involved in two shootings in the San Diego area has reportedly barricaded himself in a dumpster at a high school, forcing classes to move online, ABC News reported Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as Christopher Marquez, shot at police Monday night during a vehicle pursuit, which ended when the vehicle entered San Diego High School’s campus, ABC News reported, citing local authorities. Police returned fire during the pursuit but it is unknown if anyone is injured, they told the station.
Police said Marquez and an unidentified woman then entered a dumpster together, where they remained Tuesday morning. Marquez has refused to surrender.
Classes at San Diego High School, East Village Middle College High School and Garfield High School were moved online Tuesday due to the ongoing incident.
