GOP Senators Are In Full ‘Panic’ Mode As Trump’s Crumbling Poll Numbers ‘Threaten’ Their Majority: LA Times

Los Angeles Times journalist Janet Hook wrote a piece on Friday describing the panic that’s going on with Senate Republicans, who have been sinking with Donald Trump.

“Democrats now threaten Republican Senate incumbents in Georgia, Iowa and Montana — states that had seemed reliably red — in addition to Colorado and Arizona, where Democrats have had the advantage for months, and Maine, where GOP Sen. Susan Collins is facing the toughest election in her long career,” Hook writes.

Democrats aren’t only outraising their Senate Republican opponents, but they don’t have to deal with the Trump mess. As the election inches closer Senate Republicans are desperately attempting to alienate themselves from Trump after noticing his polling numbers get lower and lower.

“Panic is gripping the Senate races,” said Rob Stutzman, a California Republican political strategist who is a vocal Trump critic. “A lot of candidates are in a really, really tough spot.”
