The Republican Party has shown on which side they stand in the fight for racial justice and equality. It was reported this week that the GOP invited the St. Louis couple who pointed their guns at Black Lives Matter demonstrators to appear at the Republican National Convention next week.
Patricia and Mark McCloskey “will appear on behalf of the president during the virtual weeklong event and express their support for him,” GOP party officials told The Washington Post.
The couple received backlash back in June when they pointed and handgun and an assault rifle at peaceful BLM demonstrators walking through their neighborhood.
The couple was later charged, each with one count of unlawful use of a weapon.
Now, the Republican Party is rewarding them by giving them the national spotlight.
