A Republican congressman has just blown the lid off a topic the GOP would rather bury.

Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) was caught on a hot mic saying President Donald Trump is in the Jeffrey Epstein files—and that the documents need to be released.

“He’s in there,” Collins said bluntly during an August 13 meeting with the Muscogee County GOP, according to The Washington Examiner. “We need to release it. I have no problem releasing it.”

The comment, casually dropped in a closed-door GOP gathering, wasn’t meant for public ears. But now that it’s out, it’s throwing gasoline on a fire Trump and his allies have been desperately trying to smother.

Trump once vowed to release the Epstein files in full if elected. That promise has since fizzled. Instead, the administration dumped over 33,000 documents last Friday—documents that, by all accounts, revealed next to nothing new.

Critics aren’t buying it. Many in Trump’s MAGA base are demanding the full release, no redactions. But insiders say Republican leadership is scrambling to contain the damage, fearing what’s still hidden could ignite a political firestorm.

The party line so far? Keep it “carefully redacted.” In other words, protect Trump.

Now Collins, intentionally or not, just pulled back the curtain—and if he’s right, the GOP may be sitting on a time bomb.
