In a striking political turn, former Fox News host Geraldo Rivera has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president, labeling Donald Trump a “sore loser” whose refusal to accept the 2020 election results has endangered American democracy and irrevocably damaged their friendship.

In a scathing post on social media, Rivera slammed Trump for perpetuating the “big lie” about the 2020 election, declaring, “Former President Trump is a sore loser who cannot be trusted to honor the Constitution.”

This statement marks a significant shift for Rivera, who previously defended Trump during numerous controversies, including the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Reflecting on their fractured relationship, Rivera revealed he hasn’t spoken to Trump in nearly four years—ever since the former president launched a campaign to overturn the election results after Joe Biden’s victory. Rivera recalled a November 2020 conversation where Trump assured him he would “do the right thing.” Instead, Trump chose to ignite a dangerous movement that culminated in the January 6 Capitol riot, an act Rivera condemned as a direct assault on democracy.

“In furtherance of that Big Lie, on January 6, 2021, Trump incited and unleashed the violent attack on the center of democracy, the U.S. Capitol for which he was Impeached,” he pointed out.

“Trump stabbed the Constitution in the back,” Rivera asserted, holding him accountable for inciting the insurrection that disrupted the certification of the election results. He warned potential Trump supporters that backing the former president now would imply an endorsement of his unfounded claims of election theft, saying, “That makes you a liar.”

“Just don’t pretend that he got robbed in 2020,” Riviera wrote.

As Trump narrows the polling gap—now trailing Harris by just 2.5 percent—Rivera acknowledged the significant number of voters who may still back the former president. However, he urged them to recognize the implications of their support, emphasizing the importance of accountability in leadership as the 2024 election approaches.

In an earlier statement, Rivera made it clear he would not be voting for Trump, explaining his stance during a livecast on NewsNation. See it below:
