Fox News host Jesse Watters unleashed a fiery tirade against California leaders, blaming them for the chaos caused by this week’s devastating wildfires and claiming Los Angeles has become such a disaster zone that it may require a “full federal takeover” — complete with martial law.
The wildfires, which ravaged parts of Los Angeles County for four days, left 11 people dead and destroyed or damaged over 10,000 properties. Firefighters struggled with a lack of water, and critics were quick to slam city and state officials for failing to prepare. Even Governor Gavin Newsom called for an investigation into the response.
On Jesse Watters Primetime, the Fox News host didn’t hold back, claiming the state’s leadership had completely lost control.
“California has been trying for years to destroy Western civilization. Well, this is what it looks like,” Watters said.
He called for drastic measures, arguing, “This is biblical-level destruction,” he concluded. “And the city of L.A. is hosting the Olympics in four years. There’s no way we can showcase L.A. to the world. A full federal takeover is needed. Invoke the Stafford Act. The state’s overwhelmed. Martial law might have to be declared.”
