In the early hours of Sunday, a tumultuous shooting incident occurred at a house party in the Houston area, resulting in three fatalities and multiple injuries, as confirmed by authorities. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 2 a.m. local time, at least one shooter unleashed gunfire at a residence in Katy, Texas, suspected to have been rented for a short duration.
Describing the situation as “chaotic,” Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated during a news briefing that the incident occurred during what seemed to be a small gathering that took a deadly turn, The Daily News reports.
According to Gonzalez, a man and a woman lost their lives on-site, while another man succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital. Additionally, at least two individuals were hospitalized with unknown conditions, and there is a possibility of more people being injured, as per the sheriff’s statement.
The victims, believed to be in their 20s, remain unidentified, and investigators are actively working to ascertain the identities of any potential suspects and determine the number of individuals involved in the shooting.
