Lincoln Project luminary George Conway has unleashed a blistering critique aimed directly at Donald Trump, ripping apart the former president’s cowardly evasion of testifying in his own defense.
Trump’s legal strategy has descended into a chaotic spectacle, with desperate attempts to discredit the district attorney, impugn the judge’s integrity, and intimidate witnesses. Yet, conspicuously absent is any coherent defense from Trump himself against the 34 felony charges of document falsification he faces in Manhattan.
Unable to launch his typical barrage of attacks on opponents, Trump has resorted to orchestrating a chorus of loyalists to sing his praises. Senator Tommy Tuberville brazenly admitted his mission to flout the gag order on Trump’s behalf, while reports surfaced of Trump micromanaging lawmakers’ statements during Michael Cohen’s testimony.
Conway dissected the charade, exposing its true purpose: to satiate Trump’s insatiable narcissism and prop up his fragile psyche. He minced no words in condemning Trump’s reckless disregard for legal counsel, citing past advisors who branded him a habitual liar.
“They’re bringing the people up there to show a fealty to him, to quench his narcissistic thirst,” Conway said. “That’s actually probably a good deal of what’s fully going on there. I mean, they are trying to maintain his psychological composure, which is a very, very difficult thing to do.”
“If he doesn’t testify, it’s not going to be because he all of the sudden decided to follow legal advice,” he continued. “He’s causing his lawyers to do stupid things in court, like the cross-examination of Stormy and cross-examination with Michael. He doesn’t listen to his lawyers, if he doesn’t testify, it’s because he’s scared.”
Then, directing a steely gaze at the camera, Conway delivered a scathing indictment of Trump’s spinelessness.
“Donald, Donald, you like to say the things in the hallway because nobody gets to ask you questions,” Conway said. “If they ask questions, you walk away. Donald, I hope you’re listening to me. You, Donald, are a wuss. You are scared of actually doing what Stormy Daniels had to do and what Michael Cohen had to do and what every other person who is called.”
Conway then proceeded to dismantle Trump’s hypocritical attacks on perceived liars, exposing his glaring hypocrisy in refusing to take the stand and substantiate his claims.
“You hurl accusations of falsehoods, yet hide behind your Twitter tirades instead of facing the truth under oath,” Conway declared. “Are you afraid, Donald? It’s time to answer for your deeds, or forever be branded a coward.”
In a final, damning rebuke, Conway stripped away the veil of bluster to reveal the hollow core of Trump’s bravado, leaving no doubt about the true nature of the man who once occupied the highest office in the land.
“You know, you can’t call these people liars, Donald, unless you go on the stand and tell your truth,” Conway said. “Let’s hear it. Are you afraid, Donald? I think you are.”
