Ron DeSantis Assures Dying Seniors That Florida Is ‘God’s Waiting Room’

On Sunday, during a press conference on the raging coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Ron DeSantis declared that Florida is “ground zero” for nursing homes, and assured seniors that “we’re God’s waiting room” after reports that some nursing home patients had been infected by asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers.

“Florida is ground zero for the nursing home, we’re God’s waiting room,” he explained in a video posted by Bay News 9. “We have a huge number of facilities, a huge number of residents,” he added.

DeSantis also bragged that the state has “only 1.2” coronavirus deaths per 100,000 nursing home residents.
