According to new reports, former police officer Derek Chauvin has been taken into custody by Minnesota state authorities in connection with the killing of George Floyd.
Chauvin has been facing backlash after a video surfaced of him choking Floyd with his knee as the 46-year-old begged for his life.
According to reports, it is still not clear what charges Chauvin might face.
Answers will likely be provided by Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, as he has scheduled a press conference at 1 p.m. concerning a “major development” in the case.
