Just one day before Donald Trump is set to undergo a “routine yearly check-up” at Walter Reed Hospital — his second in less than six months — conservative strategist Rick Wilson delivered a blistering message to Trump’s most die-hard supporters: the president won’t be around forever to shield them from the fallout of their own actions.
In a scorching Substack column centered on Trump and his far-right advisor Stephen Miller, Wilson accused them of actively pushing the country toward chaos — all in hopes of triggering a national crisis big enough to invoke the Insurrection Act. That, Wilson argues, would let Trump wield the military like his personal security force.
But it wasn’t just another takedown of Trump’s authoritarian leanings. This time, Wilson aimed straight at the MAGA base — and he pulled no punches.
“Let this be a clear warning to those who would enable an assault on 250 years of American liberty,” Wilson wrote. “You will not reign forever. Your Dear Leader will be dead sooner than you imagine, given his failing health and corroded mind.”
The timing of the piece — landing the day before Trump’s check-up — wasn’t lost on anyone paying attention. While Trump insists it’s just routine, the fact that he’s getting examined again so soon has only added fuel to ongoing speculation about his physical and mental decline.
Wilson’s warning wasn’t vague. He spelled out exactly what he believes is coming: a reckoning for those who’ve hitched their futures to Trump’s ambitions. And it won’t just be Trump, he warned, but the entire network propping him up.
He’s been saying it for a while. In a previous post, Wilson wrote: “Donald Trump and his claque of pissant authoritarians have switched from wanna-be to gonna-be, itching to turn the United States military into their personal palace guard, their political police force, their Praetorian Guard for the Thousand Year Trumpreich.”
Now, the tone has shifted from warning to certainty.
“The lawful power of the people will be used to deliver decisive, agonizing consequences,” Wilson warned in his latest piece. “Legal, political, economic, and social punishments are the only warning that will work.”
He wasn’t just talking about Trump and Miller either. He made it clear that everyone involved in Trump’s attempts to undermine democracy— from senior advisors to anonymous ICE agents enforcing cruel policies — will face their reckoning.
“I mean this for everyone, from Donald Trump and Stephen Miller down to the masked ICE goons violating the rights of American citizens,” he wrote. “They can live their remaining days in an 8×8 cell or take a blindfold, a cigarette, and a wall; it makes no difference to me at this point.”
And in what felt like a closing salvo, Wilson dropped the most sobering line yet: “Trump wants an insurrection. And he’s sure as hell going to get one.”
So as Trump heads back to Walter Reed for another “routine” visit, Wilson’s message to MAGA-world couldn’t be clearer: when the man you’ve bet everything on is gone, the country he tried to burn down may still come looking for you.
