Congress has officially sent a bill compelling the Department of Justice to release its files on the Jeffrey Epstein case to President Donald Trump’s desk. The measure, originally pushed by House Democrats, now awaits Trump’s signature.

On Tuesday, the Senate agreed through unanimous consent to deem the House-passed Epstein bill approved as soon as it arrived from the lower chamber, which occurred earlier in the day. Senate Majority Leader John Thune confirmed that the measure would then be forwarded to Trump.

The legislation’s swift passage marks a sharp turnaround from recent months when Trump and GOP leaders worked hard to block the release of the files. But mounting public pressure forced Republican lawmakers to support the measure.

Even with the bill on Trump’s desk, its impact is uncertain. It remains unclear whether the DOJ will release the files or if they will continue to be held due to ongoing investigations.

The Epstein transparency measure moved through Congress with unprecedented speed, highlighting the power of public pressure in forcing lawmakers, even within their own party, to take action on one of the most controversial and long-running cases in recent history.
