‘Betrayed’: Trump ‘Absolutely Hammered’ by His Supporters on Truth Social After Telling Them to ‘Move On’ from Epstein

President Donald Trump is facing a full-on revolt from his own supporters after telling them to move on from the Jeffrey Epstein controversy.

Donald Trump’s base is furious over the Jeffrey Epstein controversy— and they’re not holding back.

The president is facing a wave of backlash from his most loyal supporters after telling them to “not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein” in a Saturday Truth Social post. That single sentence has triggered a political firestorm across conservative media, podcasts, and social platforms — and much of it is coming from the MAGA crowd itself.

“Trump is getting absolutely hammered by his supporters on his own media site,” attorney George Conway wrote on X. “Literally tens of thousands of replies attacking Trump. It’s worth taking a look.”

Trump’s post wasn’t subtle. He told his followers it was time to let go of the Epstein story, adding that Epstein is “somebody that nobody cares about.” But to many in MAGA-world, that sounded like a cover-up — or worse, betrayal.

It just went thermonuclear.

Right-wing commentator Benny Johnson summed it up plainly: “This is how things go from bad to worse. It just went thermonuclear with President Trump taking a side in the epic battle royale between Dan Bongino and Pam Bondi.”

Bondi, now under fire for not releasing Epstein-related documents, got a public defense from Trump. He named her and Kash Patel in his post but left out Bongino — a move some say speaks volumes.

The backlash is everywhere.

“Just release the files as promised,” Elon Musk tweeted. “The Epstein saga is a very big deal.”

Nick Fuentes, a far-right figure and longtime Trump supporter, posted: “So now Trump is claiming the Epstein files are a Democrat hoax? Lol. MAGA is dead. Good riddance.”

Another influencer, Evan Kilgore, wrote: “I feel totally betrayed. Who else?” He later added: “RIP to Donald Trump’s legacy.”

Some Trump fans are even going as far as to burn their MAGA hats in protest.

The timing couldn’t be worse. Just days before Trump’s post, the DOJ and FBI announced that Epstein’s “client list” doesn’t exist and that Epstein’s death was officially ruled a suicide — not a cover-up.

That didn’t sit well with Trump’s base, many of whom believe there’s more to the story and expected Trump to fight harder for the truth.

Fox News and Turning Point backlash

Even young conservatives at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit were not buying Trump’s message.

“I do not agree with the president,” several attendees said on Fox News.

Another added, “I think there’s a lot of instances where the president should keep his mouth closed.”

Celebrity Trump supporters joined the pile-on. Podcaster Andrew Schulz criticized the Trump administration, while Roseanne Barr tweeted directly at Trump: “Read the damn room.”

Megyn Kelly called out Pam Bondi and indirectly slammed Trump for defending her. “She repeatedly misled on Epstein. Then didn’t have the courage to explain herself. Suddenly, she’s camera shy & no Qs allowed. Good luck!”

Even Trump allies turning cold.

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon demanded that Trump appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Epstein files. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said the FBI and DOJ still “have more explaining to do.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, Trump’s former communications director, said on CNN: “This is the first time I can really remember that Trump is sidestepping his base and not doing what they’re very vocally asking him to do.”

She added: “If Donald Trump wants all of the information the government has on Jeffrey Epstein to be released, he can make that available — he can direct the attorney general to release it. So the fact he’s not, I think, raises a lot of questions.”

Trump’s Truth Social post wasn’t just unpopular — it’s opened a rift inside the MAGA movement. His words have left many of his most dedicated followers feeling “betrayed.”
