Jacob Chansley, the Capitol rioter who has been known across the internet as “QAnon Shaman,” is willing to testify in front of Congress at Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, his lawyer said according to Law&Crime.
Chansley, a.k.a. Jake Angeli, 33, was “horrendously smitten” by Trump, lawyer Al Watkins told the Associated Press.
“He felt like he was betrayed by the president,” Watkins added.
According to Law&Crime, Watkins’ defense strategy is “not unlike that of a criminal defense attorney who seeks leniency for a client after the client testifies truthfully and favorably against other alleged conspirators in a criminal case.”
As of yet, no senators have taken up the offer to have Chansley testify.
