Donald Trump created an uncomfortable moment during a visit to Florida on Tuesday when he publicly mocked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene — while speaking directly to her boyfriend.
While touring the new “Alligator Alcatraz” detention center with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Trump bumped into Brian Glenn, a reporter for Real America’s Voice who is currently dating Greene.
Trump wasted no time calling attention to the relationship.
“This is the boyfriend, very lucky, of Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Trump said while introducing Glenn to DeSantis. Then came the jab: “Do you think it’s easy being with Marjorie?”
Noem quickly chimed in with a comment of her own: “She was working out pretty hard this weekend.” The group laughed briefly, then continued the tour — but the tension was hard to miss.
The awkward exchange comes as Trump and Greene drift further apart politically. Once a loyal MAGA ally, Greene has turned against Trump’s latest legislative push — a bill that would block states from regulating artificial intelligence for a decade.
“I am adamantly OPPOSED to this, and it is a violation of state rights, and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there,” Greene tweeted in June.
Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” passed the Senate by just one vote — 51 to 50 — with Vice President JD Vance breaking the tie.
Trump’s offhand comment may have seemed like a joke, but with tensions rising behind the scenes, it landed with more edge than humor.
