A mass shooting at a bank in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday morning, left at least five people dead inside the building and sent six people to a local hospital, including a police officer, local authorities said.
Louisville police said calls came in for an “active aggressor” at 8:30 a.m. ET at the Old National Bank.
They described the suspect as a “lone shooter” who is confirmed to be dead. The circumstances of the shooter’s death are unknown. There is no active danger at this time, police said.
Kentucky’s governor, the city’s mayor and police are expected to give another update at 11:30 a.m. ET.
The shooting comes 2 weeks after three children and three adults were killed in another mass shooting at a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee.
