Pressure is mounting over the integrity of the 2024 election. Reports of voting-machine being altered before the election and odd results—like zero votes for Kamala Harris in a Democratic New York district—have alarmed voters and officials alike. A New York judge has even ordered a court review into whether machines recorded ballots improperly.

As mistrust over 2024 grows, many Americans say they don’t believe Donald Trump won every swing state against Harris—and now he’s trying to shift the focus back to the 2020 race.

On Truth Social Friday, he wrote: “Biden was grossly incompetent, and the 2020 election was a total FRAUD! The evidence is MASSIVE and OVERWHELMING. A Special Prosecutor must be appointed. This cannot be allowed to happen again in the United States of America! Let the work begin!”

He added that under his watch, border crossings dropped to zero compared to “60,000 for Sleepy, Crooked Joe Biden.” The 2020 fraud claim is old territory, but Trump is doubling down on it now.

Yet despite his insistence, courts—including those led by judges Trump himself appointed—and post-election audits in states like Georgia found no evidence of widespread fraud in 2020 .

Still, courts dismissed dozens of Trump-backed lawsuits, and election officials confirmed Biden’s win. But Trump hasn’t relented—even after his accusations fueled the Jan. 6 attack, and after a 2023 grand jury charged him over efforts to cling to power. Those charges were dropped only after his 2024 triumph.

Now, with questions swirling about the current vote, Trump is calling for a fresh federal inquiry into his old grievances. He says it’s not just politics—it’s a necessity to protect democracy. But critics see it as a classic distraction: When the 2024 results crack under pressure, Trump points to his familiar script from 2020.
