North Carolina news station CBS 17 reported on Monday that Audrey Whitlock, a leader of the ReOpen NC protest movement, contracted COVID-19 while protesting the lockdown and has been told to stay in isolation for two weeks.
According to the report, Whitlock complained on Facebook that she was forced to stay inside after contracting the virus.
She says that she has been asymptomatic throughout the quarantine and should be allowed to leave her house, despite having COVID-19.
“I have been told not to participate in public or private accommodations as requested by the government, and therefore denied my 1st amendment right of freedom of religion,” she wrote. “It has been insinuated by others that if I go out, I could be arrested for denying a quarantine order.”
