CNN’s Jake Tapper announced on Twitter on Friday that CNN plans to hold a memorial for the lives that have been lost due to COVID-19.
Tapper started the thread so families who have lost their loved ones can share their stories so they can be honored as well.
He tweeted the following:
“More than 90,000 people in the US have died from Covid-19. On Sunday, May 31 at noon ET, CNN will be holding a memorial for those lost. If you have someone you’d like to honor, submit their story here:”

While a lot of people shared their respects and honored their loved ones, others had a different approach.
The tweet was bombarded by Trump supporters who claimed that the death toll was fake and that the memorial was being held just to make the president look bad.
Take a look at their responses below:
NY and NJ has 512,785 cases and 47,506 deaths. Nearly half of the total for the US.

Most of the numbers are bogus

The @DNC and @cnn will attempt to hid their collective boners during this memorial. Yeah, people died, but orange man bad, so it’s worth it. At this point, what difference does it make?

Bull$hit numbers

When will you hold a memorial for the thousands that are killed due to abortion, or that die from car accidents, cancer, heart disease, the flu, etc, etc?? I guess some deaths are more valid than others

CNN once again cheering for more dead Americans.

even for CNN, this is pretty brazen agenda driven politicking – it's clear what the point of this stunt is, so why even feign coyness – and you may wanna ask the victims' families if they were supporters of Trump before you use them in your propaganda.

Nice Jake,
When will CNN be mourning the 60,000 lives lost to Influenza? In June?
