A political war exploded Thursday between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, as the former allies turned bitter enemies in a series of no-holds-barred public attacks.
Things hit a boiling point when Musk dropped a bombshell accusation. “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk posted on X. The statement sent shockwaves across the internet. Musk was referring to long-standing claims that a secret list exists tying powerful figures to Jeffrey Epstein — the convicted sex trafficker who died in jail.
Trump had once promised to release the Epstein files when he took office. Years later, many of his loyal supporters are still waiting. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel have not delivered. In fact, Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino now say they no longer believe Epstein was murdered — something many in Trump’s base still do.
But Musk didn’t stop there.
He called Trump’s latest spending plan “a MOUNTAIN of DISGUSTING PORK,” adding that he was “disappointed” in Trump for pushing it through. The Congressional Budget Office estimates it could add $2.4 trillion in new debt.

Musk has also started testing support for a new political party. “Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?” he asked in a poll. A staggering 83% of the nearly 600,000 voters said yes.
Earlier this week, Musk also urged voters to kick out almost every House Republican who supported Trump’s budget. “In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people,” he posted.
The fight reached a new peak when Musk backed a call for Trump’s impeachment. He replied “Yes” to conservative influencer Ian Miles Cheong, who had posted: “Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him.”
And Musk is warning of more fallout from Trump’s policies. He claimed Trump’s trade tariffs would lead to a full-blown recession by the second half of 2025.
While Trump has held back from his usual name-calling, the tension is unmistakable. And with Musk making it personal — dragging Epstein’s name into the mix — this feud is officially all-out war.
