One of Donald Trump’s biggest evangelical supporters has been receiving negative press this week after posing for a photo with his pants unbuttoned while holding a woman – who isn’t his wife – by the waist.
Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. received backlash for his provocative photo, even by Republicans.
This led the board of the University to call on Falwell to step down entirely.
“The Executive Committee of Liberty University’s Board of Trustees, acting on behalf of the full Board, met today and requested that Jerry Falwell, Jr. take an indefinite leave of absence from his roles as President and Chancellor,” the statement said, in part, according to CNN’s Jim Acosta.
