During an interview on Fox News on Friday, President Donald Trump was fact-checked by host Chris Wallace when he claimed that former Vice President Joe Biden supports defunding the police. Trump didn’t take it well. In fact, he interrupted the interview to look for evidence of his claim, which he never found.
Hours later, Trump took to Twitter to double down on his claim that Biden “wants to defund the police.” He didn’t offer any evidence.
“Corrupt Joe Biden wants to defund our police. He may use different words, but when you look at his pact with Crazy Bernie, and other things, that’s what he wants to do. It would destroy America!” Trump tweeted.
Twitter users were quick to set the record straight… again.
