Jesse Watters apparently has a contingency plan if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez becomes president: get out of the country.
The Fox News host said Thursday that he would move to Paris if Ocasio-Cortez becomes president, reviving a threat he previously made about fleeing the United States if Kamala Harris wins the White House.
AOC, a Democratic socialist who has not ruled out a 2028 presidential bid, has increasingly found herself at the center of speculation about the next Democratic primary.
And Watters, one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent media supporters, has made no secret of his disdain for her.
During his show Thursday, Watters responded to a viewer who asked whether he would move to Paris if Ocasio-Cortez became president.
“Didn’t I promise I’d move to Paris if Kamala won? Sure, yeah, I’ll move to Paris,” Watters said. “No problem.”
Apparently, one presidential candidate isn’t enough to trigger Watters’ hypothetical European escape plan.
He made essentially the same promise about a week earlier, saying he would leave for Paris if Harris won the presidency in 2028.
Harris has reportedly been considering another presidential run but has not announced a campaign.
Ocasio-Cortez, meanwhile, has become one of the names Democrats are already talking about for 2028.
The 36-year-old New York congresswoman hasn’t committed to running for president — or even said she will seek another office — but early polling has put her near the top of the Democratic field.
A recent Granite State Poll from the University of New Hampshire found AOC narrowly leading the potential Democratic field in the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary.
Ocasio-Cortez received 22 percent support, just one point ahead of former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at 21 percent.
That’s hardly a Democratic nomination locked up. But it’s enough to explain why Republicans and conservative media figures are already paying close attention.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has even predicted that Ocasio-Cortez will run for president, while speculating that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani could challenge Sen. Chuck Schumer for his Senate seat.
For Watters, though, the solution appears remarkably simple. If AOC wins, he says he’s heading for Paris.
Whether that promise survives an actual presidential election remains another question entirely.
