Late Wednesday night, Donald Trump erupted in a flurry of angry posts on his Truth Social platform, firing off wild attacks at California Gov. Gavin Newsom, MSNBC, and mail-in voting.
The meltdown came after Newsom spent days mocking Trump online, copying his loud, bombastic style and clearly getting under the president’s skin.
Trump started his late-night rant just before midnight by praising Texas lawmakers for redrawing congressional maps that would likely give Republicans five extra seats in next year’s midterms. He called on other states to follow suit, adding that eliminating mail-in voting would help the GOP pick up “100 more seats” in Congress.
Next, Trump bragged about a supposed “59% APPROVAL RATING,” claiming a huge lead over Democrats. But no recent poll backs up that number—most show Trump trailing by several points.
Then, turning his rage on MSNBC, Trump blasted the network in all caps, saying:

Finally, Trump lashed out at Newsom directly:

Newsom’s team fired back with a Trump-style jab of their own, posting three snowflake emojis to mock Trump’s meltdown. They also quipped in response to Trump’s MSNBC rant: “TRUMP IS IMITATING ME! — GCN”

Newsom himself responded simply with one word from his personal account: “Triggered?”

The back-and-forth underscores just how rattled Trump seems by the California governor’s taunts. And judging by the late-night flood of posts, it’s clear Trump’s not sleeping easy.
