Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) made an alarming statement about right-wing broadcaster Tucker Carlson during an interview with British journalist Steven Edginton on Monday.

After being interviewed, the GOP congressman was asked if he had ever met Carlson, to which he appeared to respond: “We’ve talked a lot on Twitter…If I ever meet him, I’ll fucking kill him.”

Crenshaw also called Carlson “the worst person” as he and the interviewer walked away from the camera. The comments were made while both Crenshaw and the interviewer were being unmiked, though the camera was still recording.

Though Edginton initially laughed at the comment, Crenshaw appeared to be serious about his statement. Edginton shared the clip and claimed he kept “receipts” of Crenshaw’s remark, adding that Crenshaw told him, “when I laughed it wasn’t a joke.”

GBNews later deleted the video, but it had already been clipped and shared by several right-wing figures on X.

Elon Musk joined the debate on X, asking why Crenshaw was “homicidal regarding Tucker.” Tucker Carlson responded by tagging Crenshaw, saying, “Why don’t you come sit for an interview and we’ll see how you do? I’ll send you my address.”

During the interview, which aired over the weekend, Crenshaw was asked about Carlson’s stance on aid to Ukraine. Crenshaw said Carlson “doesn’t know what he’s talking about” and added, “Tucker likes to visit Moscow and talk about how great the grocery stores are, so I don’t really take his advice very seriously.”

This comment referred to Carlson’s trip to Moscow last year to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the visit, Carlson praised Moscow’s grocery stores and said they were “much nicer than any city in my country,” which led to criticism from some commentators and even GOP lawmakers.

Carlson and Crenshaw have had public feuded over the past few years, mostly over Crenshaw’s support for Ukraine’s fight against Russia. When Carlson was still at Fox News, he mocked Crenshaw, who lost an eye in Afghanistan, calling him “Eyepatch McCain.” In response, Crenshaw said, “You hurl juvenile insults when you know you’ve lost the debate.” Last year, Crenshaw criticized Carlson in a lengthy post on X, calling him a “click-chaser” and a “mindless” contrarian who “defends America’s enemies and attacks America’s allies.”
