Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, has slammed her billionaire father for spreading “entirely fake” narratives about her childhood, in a blistering response to his latest anti-trans remarks.
Wilson, a transgender woman, took to social media on Thursday to tear apart Musk’s recent claims about her. The Tesla CEO and X owner had posted on Monday that Wilson was “born gay and slightly autistic” and claimed that as a child, she would dress him up and describe his outfits as “fabulous.”
In a no-holds-barred rebuttal on Threads, Wilson, 20, fired back, accusing Musk of perpetuating offensive stereotypes.
“This is entirely fake. Like, literally none of this ever happened. Ever. I don’t even know where he got this from. My best guess is that he went to the Milo Yiannopoulis school of gay stereotypes, just picked some at random and said “eh- good enough” in a last-ditch attempt to garner sympathy points when he is so obviously in the wrong even in his own fucking story,” Wilson wrote.
“I never picked out jackets for him to wear and I was most certainly not calling them ‘fabulous’ because literally what the (f**k). I did not use the word fabulous when I was four because once again I would like to reiterate… I was four,” she continued. “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn’t there, and in the little time that he was I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness.”
Musk’s recent shift towards right-wing extremism, including anti-immigration, anti-DEI, and anti-trans rhetoric, has been marked by incendiary posts on X. In a Monday interview with right-wing podcaster Jordan Peterson, Musk claimed he was “tricked” into signing off on Wilson’s transition during the Covid-19 pandemic and vowed to “destroy the woke mind virus” afterward.
Musk’s history of anti-trans comments includes a now-deleted tweet from December 2020 mocking gender pronouns, accompanied by a disturbing image of an 18th-century soldier. Despite facing backlash, Musk attempted to brush off the criticism, claiming support for trans individuals while dismissing pronouns as an “esthetic nightmare.”
Under Musk’s stewardship, X has dismantled key safety measures for transgender users. He also condemned the term “cisgender” as a “slur,” subjecting it to automatic content restrictions on the platform.
In his authorized biography, Musk scapegoated his daughter’s transition on her time at a progressive Los Angeles school. This week’s comments from Wilson represent her strongest condemnation yet of Musk’s statements.
In the Peterson interview, Musk went so far as to declare his child “dead” following her transition, further stating that Wilson is “not a girl.”
Wilson responded by asserting her well-being in a Threads video and reaffirmed her legal recognition as a woman in California. She concluded with a sharp rebuke, telling Musk to “touch some f*****g grass.”
