Lawrence O’Donnell Scorches Sen. Tuberville as ‘Most Disgraceful Senator’ in Explosive Rant

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell didn’t mince words as he unleashed a scathing rebuke of Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) during Thursday’s broadcast of “The Last Word”.

Tuberville stands alone in his relentless obstruction of hundreds of military promotions in the Senate, all in protest of Pentagon abortion policies.

With a searing critique, O’Donnell lambasted Tuberville’s actions as an example of “mindless cruelty” that is directly depriving military families of their well-deserved pay raises tied to these delayed promotions.

Pulling no punches, “The Last Word” host labeled Tuberville as not just a disgraceful senator, but the “most disgraceful senator of the year.” He further asserted that Tuberville’s intellect is sorely lacking, stating that he’s “widely regarded as the stupidest senator,” in the entire Senate, a chamber that has seen its fair share of disgraceful behavior.

“And there’s a lot of competition for disgraceful in the United States Senate, where the Republican aisle is occupied by the very worst collection of senators since the last segregationist left the building,” he continued.

O’Donnell’s fierce rebuke comes as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has taken steps to force a vote on Gen. CQ Brown, who was confirmed as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff just the day before. Yet, despite this progress, the promotions of over 300 other nominees remain frustratingly stalled.
