Defeated Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake sparked an avalanche of mockery Monday night after crying “BS” when news networks projected her Democratic opponent to win the Arizona race.
Lake, a former Fox News anchor, became one of the most prominent election deniers in the country but ultimately lost like so many other election deniers that Donald Trump backed in key battleground states, and she is not taking her loss very well.
After the Associated Press and other major news networks projected that Democrat Katie Hobbs will be the state’s next governor, Lake took to Twitter to whine and call the news “BS.
“Arizonans know BS when they see it,” she wrote.
Naturally, Twitter users had to respond, and mockery ensued.
“Perfect concession: self-aware & concise,” wrote The New Yorker’s Philip Gourevitch.
“Totally true, as the vote shows,” replied Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif.
“That’s exactly why you will not be Governor, Kari,” another user quipped.
