Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) triggered an avalanche of harsh criticism after he tried to attack President Joe Biden for answering a question about domestic politics while speaking at an emergency summit of NATO leaders about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In response to a reporter’s question, The US President explained how he’d been inspired to run for the White House following former President Donald Trump’s “both sides” comment after the deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017.

Graham decided that this was a good opportunity to attack Biden and wrote on Twitter: “As Ukraine burns, President Biden is talking about Charlottesville and domestic politics. Very sad.”

Naturally, Twitter users fired back at the South Carolina senator by pointing out how Biden was only responding to a journalist’s question about European concerns that the world’s coordinated response against Russia could be undone if Trump won the 2024 election.

Others reminded Graham of his own wild tangents and Trump’s habit of turning every press conference into a grievance fest and attacks against his political enemies.
