A former Louisiana middle school teacher has been sentenced to 40 years behind bars after pleading guilty to giving her students cupcakes laced with her husband’s sperm.
According to local station KRON4, Cynthia Perkins, 36, was sentenced Friday to 40 years of hard labor without the possibility of parole in a plea bargain deal on charges that include second-degree rape, producing child pornography and conspiracy mingling of harmful substances.
The deal requires her cooperation against ex-husband Dennis Perkins, 44, a former SWAT team commander for the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“Today, Cynthia Perkins admitted to her crimes and pled guilty in court,” Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said, according to the station. “She not only waived any right to appeal, and attempt to avoid conviction, but she also spared the victims from reliving her horrific crimes during this particular trial.”

According to court documents, Cynthia admitted to helping her ex-husband sexually assault a juvenile, film a juvenile bathing, and lace cupcakes with sperm from her ex-husband, which were fed to school children, the report added.
Cynthia resigned from Westside Junior High School the day after her arrest. Dennis was fired from his deputy role at the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office. He is scheduled to face trial in May on 150 criminal charges.
