A Florida man who was attacked by three pit bulls on Friday night died from his injuries, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said, according to local ABC station WKRG-5 News.
Deputies arrived at the 400 block of Norris Avenue around 10:15 pm in response to a 911 call reporting the incident. Witnesses told the officers they saw a man being attacked by three pit bulls, the station reported.
The witnesses were able to scare the dogs off, but it was too late as the victim died from his injuries, deputies said. Escambia County Animal Control was called to the scene but could not find the dogs.
Deputies went back to the area with animal control at 8 a.m. Saturday, where they located one of the dogs. The dog was allegedly aggressive so the officer shot it.
The animal was caught and is receiving medical treatment according to the report. The other two dogs have not been located.
